The following press release was leaked on the North American Wrestling Council's website this morning.
"The effects of COVID-19 on our business has been massive. We have been forced to cease operations during this difficult time, and have proactively done our past to operate within the guidelines set forth by the Canadian Government, as well as our neighbours to the south. With that being said, I feel that it is time for us to look into opening up our business in the safest way possible. The province of New Brunswick acted quickly and shut down their boarders on March 20th, and after six weeks, they have no reported COIVD-19 deaths, and very few cases. These encouraging numbers have allowed the province to begin re-opening in phases while keeping 'social distancing' at the forefront. I have been in talks with the local government officials about the possibility of bringing two major events to the province of New Brunswick on May 15th, and May 22nd respectively. Our plan is to utilize a facility near the New Brunswick & Nova Scotia boarder, where our local wrestlers will have very little trouble commuting to. As for the wrestlers who reside in the U.S - my ask is that you find your way to Jacksonville Florida on May 13th if you are booked on the May 15th event, as well as May 20th if you're booked on the May 22nd event.
"I have been granted access to over 50 COVID-19 testing kits which we will have our medical staff administer to each athlete before they board the jet to New Brunswick. These are unprecedented times, and we feel that we are taking the strongest precautions possible to secure the health and safety of our wrestlers. It should be noted that these two events that I'm about to unveil will not be open to the public. We will have a small camera crew available to record the events which we will then publish online through our website."

"The May 15th event is going to be a Northern Pro Wrestling card that would rival any wrestling show thus far in 2020. I had the privilege of working with NPW Owner; Gus Arnold on the logistics around the event. We felt as though this event should showcase the very best talent we have access to, while also taking into consideration some of the rivalries that were beginning to brew prior to the COVID-19 shutdown."
"The Main Event will be a match for the Canadian Commonwealth Championship - as Current Champion, Oxford Osland will put the championship on the line against Eric Dane. Osland has gone on record for many weeks stating his desire to wrestle the former multiple time world champion, and we sought to make this match happen. It's a match that Osland wants, and the fans want to see. If you know anything about Eric Dane, he's chomping at the bit to set Osland straight, and take his coveted championship in the process. Eric Dane is one of the most decorated wrestlers of our time, and it has always been a goal of mine to bring in someone that I considered a friend back in our time in the burgeoning stages of the WfWA. Oxford Osland - be careful what you wish for."
"Crossfire is a man who fancies himself as the Alpha Dog wherever he goes. His resume speaks for itself, and he recently signed an exclusive contract with Northern Pro Wrestling. Crossfire said that he wanted to dive right into the mix, and showcase a level of brutality unlike anyone has ever seen in NPW. After consulting with Gus, we felt this would be an excellent opportunity to grant Crossfire his request, and put him in the ring with Leon Van Zandt. 'LVZ' has been dismantling his foes one by one or in some cases, two by two - since he set foot in NPW. While it's clear that 'The Hawaiian Hitman' is a definitely step-up in competition, these are the types of bouts that clearly define the food chain in the locker room."
"The third bout that I would like to announce is a tag team grudge match between The Eastern Elite duo of Ralph Erickson & Allan Algar, taking on current Canadian Heritage Champion; Gordon Carlson, and his cousin Eric Carlson. The Carlson's have been harassing management for an opportunity to show the world that they are the better wrestlers, and that their vision of how 'The Eagle's Nest Dojo' should be represented. Gordon Carlson refused Gus Arnold's request to come to his 'warehouse', to put his championship on the line and went as far as to say that the only match he was interested in would be a tag team affair against Eastern Elite. Ask and you shall receive."
"There is one more slot available which will be filled as we draw closer to the event. Stay tuned."
"As for the May 22nd Event - it will be the 2nd Annual NAWC Tag Wars Event. Last year's epic three day event allowed the NAWC to crown it's first North American Tag Team Champions in The World Beaters out of Crown Jewel Wrestling. As luck would have it, the two wrestlers from Missouri are available and willing to make the trip to Florida and take part in what they call 'The Event They Made Famous'. Dave Thompson said that they were confident enough to declare an open challenge to any tag team in Canada who felt like they could hang with them."
"In a match that has been dubbed 'Brotherly Love' - Bennet and Hoyt Hagen (The Hagen Boyz) will take on Myles and Martin Alexander (The Roughnecks). These two teams are comprised of siblings, and both are looking to prove to be trending upwards in their respective careers. This contest will go along way in determining their respective futures."
"In the Semi-Main Event - The Imperial Crown Tag Team Championships will be on the line - as The Shining Stars (Ito & Kondo) will defend their championships against Bloodline. Gus and I both agree that Bloodline's run of dominance since their inception was enough to offer them a crack at the championships. Bloodline is in the midst of a transition after Esteban Fuentes decided to align with two of the men who tormented him for months in Midwestern Pro. It will be Manuel Mayorga and Esteban Fuentes who will represent the Bloodline team in this championship contest."
"The Main Event will see the current North American Tag Team Champions; Pressure Point (Bishop & Brewer) defend their championships against the newly crowned Southern Tag Team Champions - Frank Dylan James & 'Howlin' Joe Wolfe. Personally, I have been looking to sign 'FDJ' to a contract since the inception of the NAWC. The West Virginia Whack Job has won world championships in Japan and North America alike. In what was one of the more brutal feuds of 2020, FDJ's rivalry with The Untouchables was enough for me to believe that FDJ and Wolfe were worthy of this championship opportunity. Joe Wolfe was trained by Dusty Griffith, and seems to be coming into his own as a performer. On the flip side, the Champions have been nothing short of dominant, as they've been blistering their way through the competition for nearly a year. Can you say, HOSS FIGHT?"
"An official rundown of the two events will be made available sometime this afternoon. I appreciate your time and patience during these difficult times. Take Care and Stay Safe.
