It was time to venture back to Gus' warehouse to follow up on my last visit. The same five men were present at the Warehouse, working on their respective crafts. Gus opened the front door, and conducted a brief interview from a distance. When I asked him how Kenneth Marshall's rehab was going, Gus responded that Kenneth should be back to full strength in the next 4 weeks or so. Gus said that he envisioned Marshall coming back with a bit of a chip on his shoulder, as he wanted to exact revenge on those who opposed him, while taking full control of his career. Gus remarked that it was at his request that Marshall buried the hatchet with Alec Kirkland after years of an intense rivalry. Alec's propensity of finding himself 'in trouble' and refusing to backdown was starting to multiply with no end in sight. It was a favour to me, and it ended up costing him nearly six months of his career. Gus said that there isn't any hostility between Kirkland and Marshall - but Gus said that Kenneth was looking to blaze his own trail upon returning.
When asked about Liam Beesley's inclusion as head trainer - Gus said that he felt as though Beesley had a lot to offer in the way of knowledge, and that his days in the ring were far from over. Gus said that the two of them seemed to be share a brain when it came to the importance of certain aspects of the sport of professional wrestling. Gus said that Beesley's work with KUMA and Callum Ross would be evident in their improvements once they were able to showcase it in front of an audience. In the meantime, they were going to continue to take each other's best shot. Gus hinted that KUMA was consistently getting the best of Ross in the early going, but that Callum was starting to close the gap.
When approached about the Canadian Heritage Championship, and how it changed hands at Mardi Gras Massacre in 'GCGC' - Gus said that while he didn't give his consent for the match to be a title defence outside of Canadian Soil - that he would honour it. Gus said that Gentry McCray knew what he was getting himself into when he agreed to put the championship on the line - and that the athletic commission in Alabama sanctioned it and with GCGC being a member of the North American Wrestling Council - there wasn't anything more to be said. Gus went onto infer that Gordon Carlson was a very cagey individual who was able to take advantage of the history he had with Gentry McCray to create a scenario where Gentry would've looked foolish if he backed down from the challenge. Gus said that while the province of Nova Scotia was still strict on having gatherings of 5 people or less - he offered to have Gordon and is cousin Eric come to the warehouse once they had finished isolating themselves for the appropriate time. Gus said that he would love to see how Gordon and Eric Carlson would fair against KUMA and Callum Ross. Gus said that he would let Liam Beesley oversee the bouts, and they would be 1 vs. 1 with each side allowed to have a cornerman with them.
