Crown Jewel Wrestling Championship
JACK vs. Boom Boom Empire ©
2019 proved to be quite a year for both men vying for the most prestigious prize in Crown Jewel Wrestling. Since his debut Boom Boom Empire has remained undefeated, and, after a comparatively weak begining of his career, JACK has defied the odds and proved to be every bit a top contender to Boom Boom Empire’s championship with wins in the Heir Apparent match and Line of Succession tournament.
A change of attitude at High Treason saw JACK viciously assault his own father, an act which he has not shown any remorse for since, and has riled up many competitors in Crown Jewel Wrestling who cite Kevin Scullion as one of their influences for stepping into the wrestling ring. Boom Boom Empire will surely be looking to exact a measure of revenge on the challenger as they compete for the Crown Jewel Wrestling Championship in the main event.
NAWC North American Championship
Eugene Dewey vs. Robbie Farside ©
After claiming to be the best wrestler on either side of the Atlantic, newly crowned NAWC North American Champion, Robbie Farside, answered the challenge posed by Eugene Dewey with an attack from behind, and sustained assaults in the following weeks. Can the Motormouth from Marsh Farm live up to his claims or will the Guru of Gaming add another championship to his ever growing list of accomplishments?
Crown Jewel Wrestling Tag Team Championship
The Outlook vs. The World Beaters ©
The World Beaters have dominated the tag team division since claiming the Crown Jewel Wrestling Tag Team Championship, but the seemingly invincible duo suffered a defeat at the hands of Pressure Point, and the pressure (no pun intended) on their shoulders was compounded after being pinned in an 8 man tag match by the challengers. Can The Outlook, who earned their championship shot after surviving a veritable smorgasbord of the Crown Jewel Wrestling tag team division in a battle royal, exploit the chink in The World Beaters armour one more time, or have the World Beaters licked their wounds, regrouped and continue their domination?
Crown Jewel Wrestling Women’s Championship
Lady Kelly w/ Nisha Campbell vs. Remedy ©
Very few predicted that Lady Kelly would pose as the first serious threat to Remedy’s Women’s Championship, but with Nisha Campbell by her side, and a plaster cast on her arm, she is proving to be just that. After breaking her arm in a match with Remedy while the reigning champion was on her ascendancy to the championship, Lady Kelly sat at home stewing about the opportunities she was missing and Remedy was receiving. Now, back in the ring, Lady Kelly has made her own opportunities with the help of Nisha Campbell, and she looks to take the championship from the undefeated Remedy’s hands.
Crown Jewel Wrestling Television Championship
Ekon Eboh vs. Tyler Povey ©
For months and months and months Ekon Eboh, Jackson Moore and Nathan Hackett have preached about the virtues of being ‘woke’. Their calls for greater representation for people of colour and other minorities, they claim, have fallen of deaf ears. They also claim that opportunities are afforded readily to the likes of Tyler Povey, who has become the longest reigning Television Champion. Will #WOKE finally get their wish and gift Crown Jewel Wrestling with its first woke champion, or will Tyler Povey prove that he earned his position in the company and silence the #WOKE Warriors?
Last Man Standing Match
Broadside vs. Cyprian
The two largest competitors in Crown Jewel Wrestling have found themselves entangled with each other for the best part of the last year, and now it’s time to finish this. After coming out ahead each time the two faced off, Cyprian tried to move on, but a game performance from Broadside in the Line of Succession that saw the two battle to a time limit draw raised questions over just who is the better man. Can Broadside finally vanquish Cyprian and continue with his quest for booty or will the Prince of Darkness put the Pirate from Penzance down for the count?
The Bhangra Boys vs. Gentleman’s Agreement
After losing their chance at the Crown Jewel Wrestling Tag Team Championship, Gentleman’s Agreement blamed The Bhangra Boys for distracting them and causing their elimination from the battle royal. Each confrontation between the two teams has only exacerbated the problems between the two sides. Will things finally be settled when the teams compete on the biggest stage?
Chloe Caruthers vs. Lilith
To say Chloe Caruthers and Lilith have had contrasting years would be an understatement. While Lilith spent the majority of 2019 as Women’s Champion, Chloe Caruthers has been unsuccessful in claiming gold and seen her relationship with JACK crumble in the wake of his villainous turn. Chloe seems to be in a better place mentally now though, and claims she needs one thing to set her right again, a win over Lilith, which has eluded her to date. Will Chloe finally pick up that much desired ‘W’ or will Lilith get back to her winning ways and cause Chloe another round of disappointment?
Ed Taylor has also revealed in the last few days that he has an announcement that he says will change the shape of Crown Jewel Wrestling in the months to come. What is that announcement? You’ll have to tune in to Crowning Glory, live from Shoreditch Town Hall on Thursday 13th February at 9pm GMT to find out.
