- The Battle of Baltimore has come and gone, and the wrestling world is still buzzing. Oxford Osland put even his toughest critics to rest, as he showcased a level of grit and intensity unseen prior to his North American Championship match against Aaron Vasquez. Analysts assumed that Vasquez's experience and chaotic style would prove to be too much for the champion to handle. They were wrong. What took place was an epic match, where Oxford Osland proved he could stand toe to toe with someone like Aaron Vasquez and hold his own. Vasquez wasn't able to intimidate Osland, even when it was announced that I-69 would be barred from ringside. After struggling to break free from the Dragon Sleeper position for over two minutes, Vasquez would eventually succumb to the hold once Osland used a body scissors to apply more pressure. In true Vasquez fashion, he was defiant until the very end - refusing to tap. Eventually his oxygen supply was cut short, and the referee called the match once he had officially passed out from the submission. Osland's reign at the top of the NAWC seems to be getting stronger by the day, and this match served notice to future challengers that he's capable of defending his championship against any and all challenges.
- After winning the Imperial Crown Tag League in Northern Pro Wrestling - The Shining Stars earned the right to challenge for the North American Tag Team Championships against the red hot duo known as 'The World Beaters.' Dave Thompson and Jason Brown have been on a huge roll since bursting onto the scene at NAWC Tag Wars, and have defeated every challenge that has come their way ever since. The undefeated duo of Kano Ito and Tetsu Kondo proved to be worthy challengers, but they couldn't quite get over the mountain at Battle of Baltimore. Instead, the current champions added another notch to their belts, and defeated the Japanese duo who were undefeated at the time. The North American Tag Team Championships still reside in the United Kingdom, as the champions seem to have a firm grasp on them. Rumours have circulated that the duo may begin touring North America this fall, searching for challengers. We will have more on this as it develops.
- The North American Cruiserweight Championship changed hands at A*P dog days, as Dan Patterson defeated the then undefeated Willard Manchester to win the gold in front of his home crowd. Patterson has vowed to be a fighting champion, and gladly accepted his position at Battle of Baltimore as the defending champion, against Nightfall - who had earned his future title shot back in June in Midwestern Pro. Although Nightfall's newfound associate Dementia did his best to unseat Patterson as champion - Patterson found some assistance from his A*P brethren Turbulencia! Dementia will have to head back to the drawing board, as his antics would eventually cause his charge to be defeated via pinfall. The word circulating in the NAWC circle is that Jeff Andrews may look within his roster for the next worthy challenger to Patterson's Cruiserweight Championship.
- What a spectacular week it was for Tyler Povey. The young upstart ran the gauntlet in Crown Jewel Wrestling to earn the number one contender ship to the CJW Television Championship. After defeating Mr. Awkright in the finale, Povey put his name on a lot of people's 'must watch list.' Two days later, Povey captured the Crown Jewel Television Championship from Rich Justice. Boom Boom Empire stuck his nose into the contest, and this lead to the title changing hands - but nobody can deny that Povey's star is really starting to shine! After the match, The Boom Boom Empire was approached by one of the hottest free agents in the wrestling world - Robbie Farside.
- Speaking of Robbie Farside, not much has been heard from him since earlier this year in the House of Strong Style promotion based in Mobile, AL. After falling short in the finale of the Strong Style Summit, Farside has been largely off the radar. His appearance at Battle of Baltimore was a major surprise, and his targeted comments towards Boom Boom Empire, we're left to assume that Farside will be signing a contract with Crown Jewel Wrestling in the very near future.
- Prodigy Inc. emerged victorious at Dog Days and captured the A*P Trios Championships, last defeating Bloodline in the finals. Death Adder took the pinfall, and still seems intent on blazing his own trails away from the rest of the Manos Del Meurte stable. Bloodline has proven to be a strong opponent to anyone they cross paths with, and Adder's decision to align with them would be viewed as an intelligent one. Speaking of Bloodline, their leader Edgar Delgado was victorious in MPW's Lethal Lottery event, and is set to challenge Esteban Fuentes for the Midwest Championship later this week. Based on the wrestling resumes of both competitors, the championship bout has many wrestling purists salivating.
- The top of the card in Northern Pro Wrestling was shaken up when Oxford Osland and I-69 showed up at their last show. The Eastern Elite duo of Canadian Commonwealth Champion; Ralph Erickson and partner Allan Algar were ready to greet them! It was decided that Algar and Erickson would find themselves a third, and have a six man tag team match against the North American Champion and I-69 later in the show. Eastern Elite decided to recruit the services of one of their long time friends - Eric Carlson. Carlson had been teaming with Marcus Smith through the summer, and the two men showed very well in the Imperial Tag League. However, some cracks might be developing there - as Eric Carlson jumped at the chance to join Eastern Elite in their match, leaving his tag team partner high and dry. Marcus Smith was said to be insulted by the nerve of Erickson and Algar to approach Carlson right in front of him, and make their proposition. Later in the night, it would be Osland scoring the pinfall over Carlson in the main event. This situation is something to keep your eyes on, as the Northern Pro roster now seem to be fighting over every opportunity to elevate themselves to the top of the card. With Oxford Osland in tow, everyone is looking for their crack at the champion, and are willing to forget about alliances to do so.
- It was announced that Northern Pro Wrestling will be holding a single elimination tournament to crown the Canadian Heritage Champion. Not much is known as of yet about the size of the field, or who is allowed to compete. Gus Arnold believes in competition, and that the very best wrestlers in the world should be able to compete regardless of what their contracts with other promotions say. What we do know is that this tournament will headline a lot of the Northern Pro Wrestling shows throughout the fall.
More news as it develops.
