As we fade in, a graphic comes over our screen.
MPW LETHAL LOTTERY
Rules: 20 men will compete to earn the right to wrestle for the Midwest Championship.
Round 1: 20 MPW Superstars will have their names drawn at random, and will be paired up to compete in a single elimination tag team match. The teams selected are 100% random, and in order to advance, the team must score a victory over their opponents. The losing team will be eliminated and unable to compete in the second round.
Round 2: The final 10 men who have qualified will draw numbers 1 to 10 - which determines their order of entry into an over the top battle royal. Numbers 1 and 2 will begin the match and after 2 mins thereafter, another wrestler will enter the match. Wrestlers can only be eliminated by being thrown over the top rope, with both feet landing on the ground.
Round 3: The winner of the match will go onto MPW's Summer Sizzler show and headline it against the Midwest Champion.
--
Now that we know what's at stake, our night begins. Jon Smith welcomes the crowd to the venue here tonight in St. Louis MO. Jon said there would be repercussions to those who refused to wrestle according to the rules at hand. Regardless of their preconceived notions in regards to their partner or opponent - they expectation was that each wrestler would give their absolute best performance tonight out of the respect to the Midwest Championship Title. Without further ado, the night of action was set to commence.

Lethal Lottery Round 1
20 Minute Time Limit
Brinley Bishop [285lbs] & Edgar Delgado [225lbs]
vs.
Kenneth Marshall [242lbs] & Wayne Sherlock [231lbs]
- We had four heavy hitters start out the tournament, we don't just mean from a physical standpoint. Each man represented the diversity of MPW - and each had their own path in which they'd created for themselves. This contest could headline anywhere in the Missouri Valley and draw a top-notch crowd in the process. The intriguing part of this contest was that Marshall and Sherlock have been wrestling on and other for the past month over the MPW Tag Team Championship. Brinley Bishop was no stranger to Wayne Sherlock and his association with Bishop's rival; Oxford Osland. Marshall and Bishop were two of the eight men who competed at CofaC in December, and actually wrestled one and other in Northern Pro Wrestling back in December before Gus Arnold encouraged Marshall to venture beyond his home province. The wildcard in all of this - Edgar Delgado. Delgado has been on a hot streak ever since he was revealed to be the brain behind The Bloodline organization. How would Delgado fit into the mix with these other three combustable components.
- It didn't take us long to see that Wayne Sherlock really didn't show any intent in aiding his tag team partner. Kenneth Marshall and Edgar Delgado started the match, and whenever Marshall looked up to his partner for a tag, Sherlock would pull back and be just out of the reach. One has to wonder if Jon Smith will hold Sherlock accountable for his actions in this match. Delgado proved he could hang with Marshall on the mats, which may come as a bit of surprise to anyone who hans't follows Delgado's career closely. Delgado showed he was a true ring general, refusing to take a step backwards, and whenever it was the optimal time to tag in his much bigger tag team partner, he would cease the opportunity.
- Bishop executed a few judo throws, and would keep his full body weight on top of Marshall for long periods of time, forcing him to exert lots of energy in the process of getting back to his feet. Marshall showed he was a physical specimen in his own right, as he continued to answer the challenge, and re-engage Bishop on the feet without giving his partner a second thought. In fact, Sherlock could be seen talking trash to Marshall behind his back - so Marshall already knew he wasn't going to be able to rely on his partner much if at all.
- Marshall was able to execute a massive german suplex to Bishop which popped the crowd. In doing so, he had the opportunity to walk over to his corner and attempt to tag his partner. Instead, Marshall showed he wasn't going to tolerate any disrespect, so he nudged Sherlock with his elbow, encouraging him to accept the tag like a professional. Sherlock reared back and cocked Marshall in the face with a right hand that dropped him to one knee. The referee quickly admonished sherlock for his actions - but by then he had stepped off the apron, and was in the process of leaving the ringside area. Marshall looked over at Sherlock, pointing his finger at him, telling him he knew he didn't have any integrity.
- The bigger issue laid in wait, as Bishop took a short cut and blindsided Marshall while he was distracted. The fans seemed a little surprised at this since Bishop often fashioned himself to a loyal and honest man. A running power bomb followed, which seemed to take a lot out of Marshall. Bishop reached his hand back to Delgado, who made the tag and started ascending to the top rope - a Running power slam from Bishop followed, and on cue - Delgado executed a perfect moonsault right across the sternum of Kenneth Marshall. The referee was in position to make the count, and he did so. 1...2...3!
Winners: Brinley Bishop and Edgar Delgado (9:35)
The two men seemed genuinely surprised that they seemed to have some fluid chemistry in the ring. Their styles are completely opposite, but they were able to collaborate on the spot to eliminate their opponents. Two spots in round two were well deserved.
--
Backstage we cut to a shot of Jon Smith reprimanding Wayne Sherlock for his lack of professionalism. Sherlock didn't seem to care, as he waved Oxford Osland into the shot, who was proudly displaying his NAWC North American Championship. Osland told Jon to back off, and if he wanted Osland to boost his houses with his presence, he would lay off of Sherlock.
Jon Didn't take too kindly to the threat and said that he was the man who was writing the contract for Osland's upcoming match with Aaron Vasquez, and he was going to make that match a 'No Hold Barred' Match. Osland looked disgusted and told Jon he better watch himself. Jon then looked over at Sherlock and told him that since he refused to follow the criteria of the match, that he wouldn't be giving him or Allan Joseph a shot at the MPW Tag Team Championships as long as 'The Technical Authority' were still the champions. Before Sherlock could protest, Smith walked off.
--
- The second match of the night, and the second match that was mired in controversy. We knew that Aaron Vasquez's pairing with The Black Jaguar was as Yin&Yang as you could find. But factor in the news that Oxford Osland was just made aware of, and he was also a factor in this match. As the match got underway, Mayorga and Taylor seemed to be co-existing because they knew this opportunity was paramount for their respective careers. Mayorga revelled the opportunity to go toe to toe with Vasquez to test his toughness against one of the more respected tough guys in the NAWC. Mayorga would get his wish, and would stand toe to toe with Vasquez much to the surprise of the crowd. It was in that moment that the light switch seemed to go off to the crowd in attendance. If Mayorga can take a big shot from Vasquez, and Mayorga can throw one back of his own and stagger 'Chico' - then he's a force to be reckoned with. Factor in the leadership qualities of Edgar Delgado, and its no wonder Bloodline has been enjoying great success as of late.
- Reggie Taylor would showcase his tag team expertise, as he's become quite the strong player in his own right. The distraction of Oxford Osland coming to ringside was enough to take Aaron Vasquez off of the apron and at the end of the aisle - knowing full well that Osland was there to pay him a visit.
- In Vasquez's absence, Mayorga and Taylor started working Jaguar over with some crisp double team moves. Black Jaguar had recently won the right to challenge for the NAWC Cruiserweight Championship when the MPW's next shot becomes available. But not even he could withstand that kind of punishment. The finish to the match came when Mayorga blasted a helpless Jaguar with a roaring elbow to the jaw. The three count followed and we had two more wrestlers advance to the second round.
Winners: Manuel Mayorga & Reggie Taylor (12:31)

We cut backstage to see Alec Kirkland face down, trying to come to. MPW officials are checking on him, but we are unaware of what has just transpired. Kenneth Marshall enters the picture and asks the officials what happened. Nobody has an answer for him.
--
- If you thought Alec Kirkland wasn't going to go tonight, you don't know him very well. Some dry blood was still present on the back of his head, but you'd never know he was injured based on his demeanour. Kirkland walked right up to Crossfire and essentially challenged him to an alpha dog stand off. Crossfire couldn't believe his eyes, as this is what he lives for, but he's also carrying around more size than Kirkland. Crossfire would oblige, and the two men tore it up inside of the ring for the first five minutes of the match, leaving the fans very satisfied. Both men had their cheering sections, as the two standouts seemed to be willing to do whatever it took to test the other's moxie.
- Lawrence Kedziora stood on the apron, snarling - looking like the nasty eastern European slugger that he was. At one point the referee had to send him back to the corner when he entered and started throwing punches at Kirkland. Crossfire told him he was going to get them disqualified, but he didn't seem to give a shit.
- Sheldon warren would enter the match, and show he could match strength with Crossfire, but couldn't quite match the nasty streak that Crossfire is known for. Once Warren was on his back. Crossfire aggressively slapped Kedziora's hand to tag him in. Lawrence didn't seem to care that it was a strong tag, as he brushed by Crossfire and immediately mounted Warren and delivered nasty punches. Once he got a few licks in, he pounced to the far corner and rifled Kirkland with a running clothesline knocking him off the apron.
- Kedziora bounced to his own corner and slugged Crossfire, knocking him off the apron as well. Kedziora was like a caged animal who was finally allowed to attack, so he was attacked everyone including his own tag team partner. Nothing illegal about that, so the referee didn't stop the match. He did however prevent Crossfire from entering the match and possibly decimating Kedziora with a receipt.
- Kedziora then took pleasure in wrapping Warren up with repetitive spinning toe holds, He would wrenched the ankle and put pressure on the knee, and then rinse repeat. The tactic was effective as he was able to bring Warren into a state of distress. The referee would check on him, as Kedziora started to cackle and tell Warren he wasn't disciplined. After about ten spinning toe holds, Kedziora dropped down and secured a front ankle lock with a body scissors to really finish the job. Warren couldn't take the pressure, and ended up tapping out. What a statement. The fans stood silently - shocked. Not only is this style not seen very often, but Kedziora frightened them. Crossfire entered the ring to break up the hold and to show mercy to his opponent. Kedziora got up and slapped Crossfire across the face.
- The crowd OOOOED, as that didn't seem like a good idea. As Crossfire wound up to retaliate, Kedziora dropped down and nailed him in the groin. As Crossfire dropped, Kedziora went after his eye with his thumb. Crossfire was in agony, something that we haven't really ever seen from him. Kirkland noticed that something serious was going down, so he dove onto Kedziora and used his ground skills to keep Kedziora at bay. A sickening laugh and smile followed, as Kedziora had shown himself to be truly unpredictable and violent.

Match #5
Lethal Lottery Round 1
20 Minute Time Limit
Jamal Williams [225lbs] & Santiago Ortega [207lbs]
vs.
Buckshot [212lbs] & Mitchell Dixon [213lbs]
- The crowd was split as to who they preferred to see advance in this match. They were however treated to a very competitive match without distraction. They seemed to appreciate that, as all four men gave it their best effort and earned admirers along the way. Jamal Williams has been on a roll lately, and it continued tonight. His high flying mixed with strong striking was a major highlight for his team. Santiago Ortega showed off some of that 'cant miss' prospect label that has come attached to him. It has been a rough few months for Ortega who found himself without a home when it came to allies. He attempted to be-friend Bloodline, but he wasn't readily accepted. Regardless, Ortega put on an aerial display like no other, highlighted by a sling shot forearm into the front row of the crowd which caught Buckshot clean.
- Mitchell Dixon was the technical anchor for his squad, working Williams over by taking his leg out from under him, and refusing to give it back. Dixon would ramp up the offence, and allow Buckshot to tag in and out and work the leg over as well with Dixon's instruction. Buckshot seemed to be used to taking orders, as there was no doubt that Crossfire called the shots within the ranks of the Hawaiian Hitmen.
-The finish to the match came when Santiago Ortega ducked a running clothesline from Buckshot, and went behind him, taking him over with the Tiger Suplex Hold. The referee was in position to make the count. Mitchell Dixon attempted to intervene, but he was cut off by Jamal Williams in the process.
Winners: Santiago Ortega & Jamal Williams (15:18)

Backstage we can see Jon Smith asking Alec Kirkland who attacked him. Kirkland said he can't be sure, as he was blindsided and didn't see anything. Smith seems perturbed by this, and noted he would get to the bottom of it. In the meantime, he asked Alec if he was fit to wrestle tonight - in which Alec replied 'damn right.'

David Slater [247lbs] & Logan Peters [260lbs]
vs.
Allan Joseph [240lbs] & Shane Severe [222lbs]
- Shane Severe was met with a strong welcome from the crowd, as they value his work ethic. He's become a proud underdog around the MPW, having fallen short of capturing the MPW title on a few occasions. This would serve as another foot in the door should he be able to secure a win and go onto round 2 and win that match as well. His partner Allan Joseph is a tag team competitor, and should be able to bring value to the duo even though I-69 tend to do their own thing. On the other side they were staring across two men where power house wrestling is the epitome of who they are.
- The size and strength of Peters and Slater allowed them to cease control early and often. A double powerbomb on Severe resulted in a near fall. Joseph seemed poised to play fair, and perhaps earn his way into the royal rumble portion of the competition. Severe was able to make a tag, and Joseph showed how dangerous he was by taking on both opponents without breaking a sweat. Joseph was able to keep Logan Peters grounded, and really work him over on the mat.
- Joseph seemed to enjoy tying Peters up into a pretzel, and would slap him in the face and mock him, knowing he would be unable to break free. Severe didn't seem to appreciate the semantics, but also knew that he would have to endure it if he wanted to advance.
-The finish came when Joseph locked on a nasty sharpshooter and really synched it in tight. Peters was in the middle of the ring, with nowhere to go. The pain was eventually too much, and he was forced to tap.
