Midwestern Pro Wrestling presents: Midwest Massacre LIVE from the Bloomington Civic Centre in Bloomington, IN on June 12th, 2019
--
The North American Champion; Oxford Osland was the first wrestler to be seen on tonight's show. The young blue chipper has enjoyed a six month reign as the champion up until now. Osland is accompanied by the tag team of I-69, and the three men waste little time getting to the ring. It seems as though they're eager to get a few things off of their chests.
Osland holds up the top prize within the NAWC, and gets down to business.
Osland: "I'm out here tonight to remind each and everyone here - that Midwestern Pro Wrestling owes me a debt a gratitude. My epic reign as NAWC North American champion has brought more eyes to this product than most thought was possible. I won a one night single elimination tournament, and I haven't looked back. I've defended this championship in Canada, in the Dirty South, and of course in the heartland of the USA."
The crowd starts to rebel and chant against the current champion. They're aware of his underhanded tactics, and are hoping that the next man to receive a title shot will be the man to unseat Osland as the champion. Before Osland can continue, Jon Smith walked to the top of the ramp. Jon was greeted with a strong ovation, as they knew his presence couldn't spell anything proper for the current champion.
Jon Smith: "I've been trying to get ahold of you for weeks. You've conveniently stopped answering my phone calls, and my emails. Where have you been?"
Before Osland can respond with an excuse, Jon raises his hand. This sign was to alert Osland that whatever answer he was about to give wouldn't be well received.
Jon Smith: "You must think that by ignoring me, my request was going to be forgotten? When I saw you at Tag Wars Day 2, I told you that you were due to defend the NAWC North American Championship here in Midwestern Pro this month."
The crowd grows excited with this news.
Oxford Osland: "I've already agreed to give that low-life thug Aaron Vasquez a championship opportunity this summer at the NAWC's next super show. Also Jon, I don't answer to you. You might be the man who writes my cheques here in MPW - but you don't dictate my championship calendar when it comes to who, when and where I defend my championship.
Jon nods in agreement, and does acknowledge Osland's comments as truth. However, he quickly pulls a fax memo out of his pocket from the NAWC front office. In the memo, it states that at Midwest Massacre, Oxford Osland will defend his North American Championship against a wrestler of the MPW Owner's choosing.
Osland becomes incensed, and he's clearly not taking this news very well. The fans start to get on his case, and this causes Osland to have a better pokerface about his misfortunes.
Osland: "Of course. Its convenient that you throw this in my face right here and now. You want to make it seem like I've been 'ducking' you and your phone calls... That's not the case at all. If you want me to defend this championship here tonight - all you had to do was ask.
Allan Joseph whispers something into Osland's here. We deduce that it must be some form of strategy, or words of encouragement.
Jon Smith: "Great, I'm happy to hear we're on the same page. Since you claim you're ready to defend your championship tonight - let's make that happen Right Now."
The Midwest Champion Esteban Fuentes emerges from the back. The undefeated champion walks to the ring with purpose.
Jon Smith: "And since you three always seem to be looking to break the rules. I've asked for there to be extra security at ringside for tonight's match. It was here that Alec Kirkland and Kenneth Marshall made their way to the ring. The current Midwest Tag Team Champions will be defending their titles later tonight against I-69. As we know, I-69 have been abusing Alec Kirkland on a weekly basis. Now that the odds have evened up with the emergence of Kenneth Marshall into the picture - the MPW Tag Team Scene has really heated up.

NAWC North American Championship
30 Minute Time Limit
Oxford Osland (c) (240lbs) vs. Esteban Fuentes (231lbs)
30 Minute Time Limit
Oxford Osland (c) (240lbs) vs. Esteban Fuentes (231lbs)
Result: Oxford Osland defeated Esteban Fuentes via Tiger Suplex Hold (12:37)
Reaction: The North American Champion didn't disappoint. For all of his short comings and chasing ways, the young superstar will still remind his critics that he's capable of taking down all comers with or without assistance. Esteban Fuentes has been on a huge roll since he started with MPW, and earned himself the Midwestern Championship earlier this year. While you would assume that the MPW Champion would be in-line for a championship opportunity at some point - in this case it seemed a little premature.
Whether you like him or you don't - you have to respect the list of wrestlers that Oxford Osland has wrestled, and been able to still walk away with the championship belt once the match has concluded.
Osland seemed to be in control for most of the match. The bright spots were very few for Fuentes, who dug himself an early hole, and just couldn't seem to climb out of it. The Tiger Suplex pin was a beautiful finish to the absolute clinic that the current champion put on.
As soon as Osland had his hand raised and received the championship from the time keeper, he was quick to instruct his allies to leave the ringside area with him. Osland would taunt both Marshall and Kirkland as he stood behind Joseph and Sherlock. Not wanting to jeopardize the integrity of their match later tonight, Marshall encouraged Kirkland to 'turn the other cheek' and enter the ring to check on Fuentes who stayed down a lot longer than anticipated.
Osland could be heard gloating about his performance, and once again reminding the fans of his greatness. We can't see Jon Smith's face - but we would have to assume that he was happy to bring a championship match to his hometown crowd - while also pushing Oxford Osland into a corner and forcing him to showcase the wrestler he is without taking any short cuts.

Cruiserweight Scramble Match
30 Minute Time Limit
30 Minute Time Limit
Buckshot [212lbs] vs. Santiago Ortega [207lbs] vs. Black Jaguar [208lbs] vs. Jamal Williams [225lbs]
Eliminations:
- Jamal Williams eliminated Buckshot via Double Arm DDT (9:32)
- Black Jaguar eliminated Santiago Ortega via Hurracanrna Pin (14:54)
- Black Jaguar pinned Jamal Williams after Top Rope Frog Splash Pin (17:12)
Reaction: This match was a bit of a Jamal Williams coming out party. While Jamal and Reggie Taylor have enjoyed mediocre success as a tag team, Jamal looks poised to make some noise as a singles competitor as well.
Santiago Ortega and Black Jaguar both appeared to want to test themselves at the highest level against the other. It's fitting that a roll up pin predicament would cause Ortega to be eliminated, as both men executed a variety of impact moves on the other. There seems to be a rivalry brewing there.
Black Jaguar ended up losing in the finals of the Cruiserweight Cup to Willard Manchester - but this match reminded everyone that he's still right in the mix as one of the very best wrestlers under the 225 weight mark. As the stipulation states - Black Jaguar will end up receiving a title shot at the NAWC Cruiserweight Champion at a later date.

Tag Team Showcase
30 Minute Time Limit
Bloodline (Edgar Delgado & Manuel Mayorga) [442lbs] vs. Blunt Force (Mitchell Dixon & Shane Severe) [435lbs]
Result: Bloodline defeats Blunt Force after a double spinning heel kick on Mitchell Dixon (16:56)
Reaction: The fans were very intrigued for this contest. Bloodline appear to be one of the strongest entities in all of the NAWC, and they've showcased it both in and out of the ring. Dixon and Severe vowed for revenge, and are the only two men who earned an advantage over Delgado and Mayorga in their time as a team. Eventhough it appeared that Black Jaguar and Esteban Fuentes were the 'real' target, Bloodline had to go ensure there wouldn't be any distractions - that distraction came in the form of Blunt Force.
This match featured contrasting styles. One of the true highlights was an exciting exchange between Shane Severe and Edgar Delgado in which Delgado's lucha libra style caught the American technician off guard on many fronts. Having not endured a lot of embarrassment in the ring. Severe acted out of anger, and that seemed to show that he was off his game. Severe has positioned himself was on of the upper card guys within MPW, and he's done so by putting on great matches and notching some really valuable victories along the way. The fact that Edgar Delgado seemed to be having his way with Severe was a huge wake up call to the crowd. This sequence was their first inkling as to how vast Delgado's experience truly is.
When you throw in the hard hitting style of Manuel Mayorga, it seems as if they're a great fit when it comes to checking all of the boxes. The tag team cohesion between the Bloodline duo was excellent, and they steam showcased their tag team prowess on many occasions in this contest.
Mitchell Dixon did his best to mount a comeback, but it was cut off by Mayorga. Mayorga blistered Dixon with a roaring elbow which knocked him back into his corner. Shane Severe jumped into a blind tag, and Dixon carried on as if he were the legal man. This promoted Edgar Delgado to 'cut off' Dixon, and throw him out of the ring to the arena floor. As he did so, he communicated in spanish to his partner, which totally caught Severe off guard. His lariat attempt was ducked, and in unison - Mayorga and Delgado hit Severe with a double spinning heel kick. Mayorga was still the legal man, so he made the cover - but the match was won due to Delgado's sharp defence when his partner was in a precarious position.

Alpha Dog Showdown
30 Minute Time Limit
Brinley Bishop [284lbs] vs. Crossfire [257lbs]
30 Minute Time Limit
Brinley Bishop [284lbs] vs. Crossfire [257lbs]
Reaction: When neither man made their way to the ring for the match, the crowd grew restless. That was when Aaron Vasquez walked to the ring. The crowd started to get rowdy, as Vasquez's presence seems to invoke that kind of reaction wherever he goes. Vasquez got on the mic and said there would no 'Alpha Dog' showdown here tonight. The reason being, you cannot have an Alpha Dog showdown when Aaron Vasquez is the true Alpha Dog in these parts, he argued.
Some fans agreed - but the majority we're upset that Vasquez seemed to be stalling the crowd from seeing the match between Brinley Bishop and Crossfire.
Vasquez pointed to the big screen, and we could see images of both Bishop and Crossfire laying face down in their respective dressing rooms. Vasquez told the crowd that he was responsible, and that he wanted to make sure that both of those 'wannabes' got his message loud and clear. Vasquez said that as long as he was here, the MPW Alpha would always be him. Once he defeats Oxford Osland to become the North American Champion - Vasquez said he would be happy to travel to any locker room in the NAWC and put his Alpha Dog status on the line.
As the images remain on the screen, EMT's could be seen rushing to Bishop and Crossfire, and give them medical attention. The segment closed with Vasquez seemingly orgasmic at the chaos he caused.

Midwestern Tag Team Championship
No Time Limit
Technical Authority © (Kenneth Marshall & Alec Kirkland) [462lbs] vs. I-69 (Allan Joseph and Wayne Sherlock) [471lbs]
Result: Technical Authority defeat I-69 after Cattle Mutilation Submission by Alec Kirkland on Allan Joseph (24:20)
Reaction: This match was a grudge match, and it played out as so. Alec Kirkland gained some measure of revenge at Tag Wars by recruiting his rival Kenneth Marshall to be his tag team partner and blindside I-69 in the process. Joseph and Sherlock have both interjected themselves into matches where their current opponents were involved in North American Championship matches with Oxford Osland. On top of that, I-69 took some serious liberties with Alec Kirkland the moment he arrived in MPW, and seemed to enjoy practically putting Kirkland on the shelf. If not for Kirkland's Iron Chin, a lesser man might've folded.
Both teams proved why they should be considered two of the very best tag teams in the world. The fact that Kirkland and Marshall have spent many years preparing to battle one and other - it clearly brings a unique unspoken chemistry between the two of them now that they're teaming together.
Marshall showcased what an absolute animal he is on the mat. Marshall would take pleasure in grinding both Joseph and Sherlock into the ground. An underhanded blindside from Sherlock ended up turning the tide their way, and the I-69 team blistered Marshall with double team offence for the better part of five minutes before they slipped up and ceased control. Marshall would make the hot tag to Kirkland, and that would turn the match around for the final time. Kirkland essentially took both members of I-69 on his own, and won the exchanges. The crowd loved it, and its clear why Kirkland and Marshall have positioned themselves at the top of their wrestling organizations of the past five years.
Kirkland would locked Joseph up in the cattle mutilation submission, and it wouldn't take long for him to tap, and send the fans home happy.
