The following show too place in Muncie, IN or Tuesday, April 23rd, 2019
--
The North American Champion of the NAWC started the show. As always, Oxford Osland is flanked by Allan Joseph and Wayne Sherlock. Oxford Osland carries a smug look to the ring, before entering through the ropes and opening his robe to reveal the ten pounds of gold that so many of his adversaries seem to want to take away from him. Osland cuts right to brass tacks.
Osland preaches to the MPW crowd that Alec Kirkland is living in the past. By no means does Osland believe that Kirkland is on his level, and that the one victory he holds over him was an absolute fluke. Back then, he argued that he wasn’t the same man that stands before them today. Proof to his claims, Osland asks to run the footage from last week of Kirkland laying in the ring, after being beaten down by Osland, Sherlock and Joseph. Before the humiliation can continue, the crowd erupts. Standing on the stage are the Midwest Tag Team Champions; The Hawaiian Hitmen. Just by their presence, they demand to be taken seriously. The duo soak in the cheers from the crowd, as it would appear these two factions have been on a collision course since the Hitmen were signed to Midwestern Pro back in February.
Crossfire and Buckshot stand toe to toe with the three men in the ring. Crossfire looks like he’s ready to pop off, but relents. Crossfire says that he heard the challenge from I-69 last week, and is here to let them know that they cordially accept. This gets the crowd excited, as two of the top teams who have yet to have a match, seem to be headed down that path. Crossfire holds up his half of the tag team championships.
Crossfire: “As for you… Oxford. I haven’t forgotten about you. Wherever I go, I’m the alpha dog. I’ve been following your journey at the top from afar, and I think it’s time that I come and take that championship from around your waist.”
This is when Alec Kirkland walked towards the ring. His face was bruised from the 3 on 1 beating he took at the hands of Osland and I-69. Kirkland steps in front of Crossfire, brushing his shoulder – which draws a death stare. Kirkland seemingly uninterested in the fact that Crossfire was cutting a promo, walks right up to Osland and asks him when he’s going to be a man, and give him his rightful shot at the North American Championship.
There is a brief stand-off, before Buckshot steps up and shoves Kirkland out of the way. Alec darts back, and the two men go nose to nose. And then… BOOM! The crowd erupts, as Aaron Vasquez’s Rotten Apple theme song begins to play. Vasquez was also signed to MPW back in February and has a history with The Hawaiian Hitmen, and also wrestled Alec Kirkland to a double countout in the ‘Crowning of a Champion’ tournament this past December.
Vasquez: “JU know I can blow this ‘spot’ into a million pieces…”
Vasquez locks eyes with Oxford Osland, who seems to know exactly what Vasquez is referring too, but also looks as though he doesn’t want to have this information exposed.
Vasquez: “Ju tol’ me Ox dat we’z gon’ get buzy in dis. S’time I collect my receipt, son.”
Vasquez is now right in Osland’s face. Before he can speak, Kirkland gets in Vasquez’s face. Crossfire and Buckshot are locking eyes with I-69, and Oxford Osland has since ducked out of the ring. Based on his body language, we can see that Osland doesn’t want any part of this situation. Osland yells for Joseph and Sherlock to follow suit, but they do without taking their eyes off of the Midwest Tag Team Champions. As Osland and I-69 look to make their escape, they’re cut off by Crossfire and Buckshot, who start brawling with Joseph and Sherlock. Osland makes sure his championship title is around his waist securely, before running to the backstage area.
Inside the ring, Kirkland and Vasquez are still staring eachother in the face. Vasquez asks Kirkland if he wants a ‘piece of this’ – Kirkland says anytime, anyplace. Kirkland says let’s do this tonight…

Result: Brinley Bishop defeats Edward Baker via Running Powerbomb (4:38)
This match was an absolute squash. Brinley Bishop got all of his offence in, while holding Edward Baker to a few futile attempts at mounting an offence. The crowd was clearly behind the big man Iowa, and seemed to be enjoying the destruction of the ‘loud mouth’ from St. Paul in the process. Bishop has said that he’s eager to position himself for another run at the North American Championship in the future – and would rebuild his body and skills to new levels on his journey. This victory would make it back to back weeks of impressive one sided contests to add to his resume.

Jon Smith is standing with one of the Midwestern Pro reporters, as he begins to run down a few announcements.
JS: “Midwestern Pro Wrestling in conjunction with the North American Wrestling Council would like to formally announce a three day event, which will crown the very first North American Tag Team Champions. An eight man single elimination tournament will take place in our own backyard of Bloomington, IN. The tournament bracket will be released later this week, and we want to encourage our fans to come out in full force.”
“As far as Midwestern Pro business is concerned – I would like to make a couple of major announcements. Based on what we just saw in the ring to open the show, there is a lot of uncertainty as it pertains to the next challenger for Oxford Osland’s North American Championship. What I’ve decided to do is have a match here tonight between Aaron “Chico” Vasquez and Alec Kirkland. The winner of this match will receive the next title shot from our region. The stakes are high in tonight’s main event. The first match between these two men ended up being a double count out – tonight, there must be a winner.”
“Lastly, I want to announce that I-69 are in fact the number one contenders to the Midwest Tag Team Championships. They will challenge the Hawaiian Hitmen within the next thirty days for the championships. As you know, my brother and I bleed for tag team wrestling, and we want to showcase the very best teams in Midwestern Pro. I will work out the specifics of this championship bout within the next week, and make an official announcement as to the date and time at that point.”
“Enjoy the rest of tonight’s action.”

On cue, we’re back in the ring where Manuel Mayorga and ‘Delgado’ stand shoulder to shoulder. The crowd is silent, not sure what to make of the duo at this point. Delgado grabs a mic from ringside, and speaks.
Edgar Delgado: “You can now put a face to the chaos and ‘tough love’. For the past 20 years, I’ve made my message abundantly clear. Everything that the United States understands about where I come from is all Clichés and stereotypes. All that comes out of Mexico these days are wannabe luchadors or carbon-copy gangbangers.”
Delgado’s tone is that of disgust. He pats Mayorga on the shoulder.
Edgar Delgado: “Mi Amigo here, he feels the same way. We’re here to show a better version of our heritage – one that’s family oriented. While your introduction to our belief may come with some shock factor attached to it- I’ve sat back for far too long without forcing actual change.”
“Those who get in our way… there will be consequences. Esteban Fuentes stuck his nose in our business, and he had to pay.”
Before Delgado can continue his tirade, Shane Severe and Mitchell Dixon hop the guardrails and blindside Mayorga and Delgado with chairshots. This is a clear receipt from the attack to which they were victims of last week. Another thudding chairshot, as both men fall from their knees, to the mat face down. The crowd is mixed with this sight, as they seemed intent on hearing more of what Delgado had to say… yet, equally as intrigued with Dixon and Severe exacting some form of revenge. Severe and Dixon decide not to lay in anymore licks, and they exit through the crowd, the same way they entered.
As Delgado and Mayorga shake the cobwebs and attempt to get back to their feet – Esteban Fuentes and The Black Jaguar stand atop the ramp. There is no movement towards the ring, but we can see Fuentes ‘slow clap’ for Mayorga and Delgado as they finally reach their feet, still confused as to what had just happened to them. Delgado points at Fuentes, asking him if he had anything to do with this. Fuentes doesn’t respond, and says ‘Welcome to Midwestern Pro.’

Result: Aaron Vasquez defeats Alec Kirkland by pinfall via Outside Interference (18:36)
Reaction: The match itself was even. Both men would make for a great challenge to Osland’s championship. This match couldn’t have been any more polar opposite to their first contest. Vasquez seemed intent on keeping the match in the ring, and didn’t resort to any underhanded tactics to gain an advantage. In fact, both men kept it clean, wanting to earn their shot at the championship. The same two men that couldn’t be contained and brawled all over the arena, are the same two men who are now competing in a straight wrestling match – and the goal in each match was to get a step closer to becoming North American Champion…
The finish to match came when Oxford Osland and I-69 came to ringside. Osland’s presence distracted Vasquez, who tried to launch himself from the ring, over the top rope to get his hands on the champion. The referee was doing everything in his power to stop that from happening. Meanwhile, with the referee’s back turned, I-69 entered the ring, and nailed Kirkland with a double DDT, that completely cleaned his clock. They slid out of the ring, and out of the referee’s view. Osland then stepped away, and told Vasquez and the referee to focus on the match. When Vasquez turned around, he saw Kirkland laying in the middle of the ring. He looked back at Osland, who encouraged him to make the cover. Vasquez obliged, and the pinfall was academic.
Osland could be seen saying “I told you I would keep up my end.” Vasquez nodded begrudgingly, and the referee raised his hand. He looked down at Kirkland who hadn’t moved. Something within Vasquez felt a little ‘dirty’ having won the match this way, but he quickly brushed it off, and told the crowd he was going to become the North American Champion.
Sherlock and Joseph rolled back into the ring and continued their onslaught on Alec Kirkland. Sherlock put Kirkland in a camel clutch, while Joseph ran off the near ropes and split him wide open with a running dropkick. Blood was pouring from the forehead of Alec Kirkland, as the Duo finally left the ring under referee’s orders. The referee motioned from the medics to come from the back for assistance. The show went off the air as the medics were attending to Alec Kirkland’s injuries, while I-69 and Oxford Osland gloated to the crowd.
